Review
The National Transport Museum of Ireland is located near Howth Castle and it is not too far from the DART station, either. The museum owns Ireland's only comprehensive collection of public service and commercial road transport and thus visitors can explore about 60 vehicles under one roof. Due to safety reasons, climbing up the vehicles to see them closely is not allowed, so younger kids might find the museum a bit disappointing / boring, because it is not interactive at all. As the corridors between the vehicles are rather narrow and most of the buses / trams are quite dusty and dirty, do not wear your best bright clothes when visiting the place... Although the website says that the exhibition is open at weekends from 2 to 5 only, we have already visited it around noon, too, so it is a good idea to call ahead to make sure that they are open. The museum is not really buggy-accessible, there are no stairs, but due to the building's small size, you have to leave buggies at the entrance.
How to get there: DART: Howth
